PermitPrice.com is a static reference website. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site, and Journey by Mediavine (grow.me), through which Mediavine delivers content recommendations and third-party advertising. Both set cookies in your browser and share usage data with their providers (Google and Mediavine). We have no accounts, contact forms, comment systems, or newsletters, and we do not ask you for personal information when you browse this site.

What we collect

Browsing PermitPrice does not require an account. We do not have a contact form, comment system, newsletter, or login. The only data exchanged with our server is the standard HTTP request needed to deliver the page you requested. Our hosting provider (HoboHost) keeps short-term server access logs containing IP addresses and request paths for security and uptime purposes. Through Google Analytics 4 we also receive aggregate, de-identified usage data: pages viewed, approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. GA4 does not log or store your full IP address, and we never receive your name, email, or any information that identifies you personally. We also load Journey by Mediavine (grow.me), which may collect device, browser, and engagement information (for example pages you view or content you save) and process it through Mediavine for audience measurement, content recommendations, and advertising. Mediavine handles that data under its own privacy policy (see "Advertising and interest-based content" below).

Cookies

Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<id>) to distinguish unique visitors and measure sessions. They contain a randomly generated identifier, not personal information, and expire automatically (typically within about two years, or sooner). You can block or delete them through your browser settings or with Google's official Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and the site will still work normally. Journey by Mediavine (grow.me) also sets its own cookies and browser storage to recognize returning readers and operate its engagement features; you can clear these through your browser settings as well. Separately, your browser may use localStorage to remember your light/dark theme preference; that value stays on your device, is never transmitted to our server, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Third-party services

Pages on PermitPrice load fonts from Google Fonts and use Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) for aggregate traffic measurement. Google may receive your IP address and basic request metadata; for GA4 the IP address is used only to derive approximate location and is not stored. Google processes Analytics data under its own privacy policy. Outbound links to government fee schedule documents and to other websites are not tracked by us; the destination site has its own privacy policy.

Advertising and engagement (Grow.me / Mediavine)

PermitPrice works with Mediavine and its Grow.me platform (Journey by Mediavine) to help support the site. Grow.me is a reader-engagement and advertising service provided by Mediavine, Inc. Mediavine and its advertising partners may serve content, recommendations, and advertisements when you visit this site, and may set first-party and third-party cookies and use similar technologies (pixels, tags, beacons, and SDKs) to monitor your interaction with content and to deliver, target, optimize, and measure advertising.

For these purposes the following data may be collected or processed: IP address, device and browser information (including operating system type and version, device type, web browser type, and the language of the website), general (non-precise) location, the pages you view, and - only if you choose to provide it, for example by subscribing - your email address in hashed form. Mediavine's partners may separately collect data about you from other sources and link it to data collected on this site to deliver interest-based advertising across your devices, browsers, and apps. Mediavine processes this data as described in the Mediavine Privacy Notice, and the current list of advertising partners is at Mediavine Partners.

Because interest-based advertising involves sharing data with advertising partners, this activity may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under California's CCPA/CPRA and similar U.S. state privacy laws. You can withdraw from it using the choices below.

Your privacy choices

You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies, and manage or block cookies in your browser, at any time:

Opting out stops interest-based targeting but you may still see non-personalized content and ads. Blocking or deleting cookies through your browser will not break the site. If you reach this site from a region with an applicable consent law, Mediavine's consent tool may ask for your choices before non-essential cookies are set.

Calculator inputs

Numbers you enter into our permit fee calculators run entirely in your browser. Project values, square footage, and any other figures you type are never submitted to PermitPrice or to any third party. Closing the page discards them.

Children

PermitPrice is intended for adults researching residential permit fees. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we add new data-collection features - for example a contact form or additional analytics - this page will be updated with the date of change before any new collection begins.
